Sirens 06:47

about

Fire up the Ford Escort, check the AtoZ road map and make sure there's a full tub of Vicks Vapour Rub in the glove box! That's the order of the day with this amazing 3 track of warehouse rave tackle from the studio of Acolyte, a new collaboration project by Joe Morris & Tom Gray that is a full-on force of bass bin rattling action.

Title track Helter Skelter is ruff, raw & ready right from the offshoot and absolutely reeks of sweat drenched walls from a Blackburn abandoned mill building circa 1989. Plenty of familiar vibes packed in here though this is no nostalgia trip as it wraps around & whacks you over the head with the rave stick. One for all the Optimo style fans. BIG!

Kill The Bill continues its hat tipping to the smiley face folk with scattered & hooky vocals tripping over 'that' familiar style bass sound that instantly makes you hold your hands up & declare you're having the best night of your life. Snappy keys & stabs finish off the party on this groovy number.

Sirens is a slower, chuggy entry though no less acid house than its predecessors. Plenty of squelches, 303 action & hazy tripped out synths make this sound like a long-lost track from one of The Orb's studio sessions but will now find its way firmly into those warmup/transferring to mid-session kind of sets. Lovely scene setter!
